Your Wedding – A Celebration of You

On Her Wedding Day, Every Bride is Miss America… Sleeping Beauty… Cinderella

A Quiet Moment

A Quiet Moment

From a very young age, you have dreamed of handsome princes, glass slippers and everything else that a Cinderella fairytale promises young girls.  As an adolescent, your focus turned to the glitz and glamour that the title of Miss Teen USA and Miss America brings. We’ve all been there.

Every young woman cherishes the thought of being swept away by the love of her life, or of being the center of attention, if even for a short time.  The truth of the matter is that every woman can be the fairytale princess at least one time in her life, and it is the wedding where this magic happens.

Your Wedding Day

Your wedding day is one of the most celebrated days of your life, but with it comes emotions that can be difficult to understand in the midst of such happiness.  Are these emotions normal?  Do all brides feel such an array of emotions before the big day?  Let’s examine the past year.

It is probably safe to say that you have spent the last year of your life methodically planning every small detail of your ceremony.  Now, you are weeks or even days away from your wedding and the success of the ceremony lies in someone else’s hands – a helpless feeling.  With expectations at an all-time high, you wrestle with negative thoughts, the same ones that every bride to be experiences.

Will my hair look good?  Will the caterer, musician and wedding photographer be on time?  Am I sure this is who I want to spend the rest of my life with?  Does he really want to spend his life with me?  And the list goes on and on.

Celebrating Your Fairytale – Relax!

Happy and Beautiful

Happy and Beautiful

The most important thing you can do to ease your temporary emotional distress is to focus on what you like most about each other.  Go out on a “date”, do something fun together, get a massage and do some yoga to ease your mind.  Every bride to be knows that planning a wedding can be stressful, therefore doing something to de-stress before the wedding is extremely important.

Make it a point to mentally picture how gorgeous you are going to look in your wedding dress and how handsome he will look in his tux.  Talk with some friends who have already gone through the wedding experience.  Moreover, laugh and make light of any “problems” they experienced.  You can find peace in knowing that others have made it through what you are experiencing.

Above all, limit time with those who “feed” your doubts.  All brides to be have pre-wedding jitters, but you want to make sure that the emotions you are feeling are yours and not that of your friends and family members.

Remember, as complicated as it has been to create the “perfect” wedding, it is only one day in the life of your relationship.  You have undoubtedly created hundreds if not thousands of memories together prior to this day and now is the time to relive them.

Finally, after all of these years you get to be Miss America, if even for one night.  You are beautiful and you are special. All eyes will be on you and this is your day to shine!  Remember that YOU are the princess and this is YOUR fairytale.  Relax and enjoy this celebration of YOU!
